Revolver, cash seized at ParakalaHyderabad: Going on with the Wednesday elections in Telangana region and bowing to the orders of Banwar Lal, the Chief Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh, the police and other authorities have carried out the thorough checks. During their checking, at Parakala in Warangal district, the police have seized an unlicensed revolver and Rs 2.2L from two people. The police have seized the same apart from detaing the duo. They have been interrogated by the police. More details are awaited.

From the other end, in a joint operation carried out by the Vijayanagaram rural police and the officials of Election Commission, 28kg silver which has been illegally conveyed from Visakhapatnam to Vijayanagaram was seized. The said silver has been seized near the Y Junction in Vijayanagaram. The entire silver was found in the form of fetters worn traditionally by women on their feet. So, the officials suspect that the seized silver ornaments were intended for the distribution among women voters to lure them in view of the scary elections. Also, there was no valid document held with the accused in support to their version. The police have detained two merchants in this regard and have been interrogating them.

In another incident, early on Monday, the police have carried out the spur-of-the-moment checks in view of the ongoing election code in the state. In an incident, the police have found illegal possession of liquor worth Rs 1L, stored in a godown at Devunipalli village of Kamareddy mandal in Nizamabad district. There were as many as 620 bottles of liquor found illegally stored in the godown, added Narender Reddy, the Sub Inspector of Police of Kamareddy. The liquor has been seized apart from detaining the accused. A case has been booked and investigations are on.
