Nalgonda: Sixteen persons allegedly involved in the murder of TRS district vice-president and former Maoist Konapuri Ramulu have been indentified and eight of them arrested. This was stated here on Thursday by Superintendent of Police Prabhakar Rao at a media conference. He said renegade Nayeem and his gang had planned the fatal attack on Ramulu. The eight persons arrested included the six caught by police in Kerala recently, Rao stated.

The arrested persons include Riyazuddin alias Riyaz, an alleged rowdy-sheet of Nalgonda, Gyadari Yadagiri of Samsthan Narayanpur, who were caught on Wednesday, following information provided by those nabbed from a hotel in Tiruvanantapuram.

The SP listed Nayeem, Yadagiri and Chilakaraju Suresh as accused 1,2 and 3. Accused A4 Kranti, A5 Chiranjeevi, A6 Babanna, A7 Sinanna, A8 Gyadari Sangeeta and A10 Bikshapati, an advocate of the town, as absconding.

Revealing details of the investigation, the SP said Nayeem, Suresh and Gadari Yadaiah had planned the murder after learning that Ramulu was to attend a marriage in the town. Ten persons had attacked the TRS leader at M A Baig function hall at Miryalaguda Road.
