Hyderabad: Early on Friday, at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport of Shamshabad in Hyderabad, the police have seized 37kg Red Sandalwood Powder from a Sudan national, during their regular scrutiny. The accused was held by the police officials for allegedly possessing the huge quantity (37kg) of unaccounted Red Sandalwood Powder. Apart from seizing the same, the foreigner has also been held by the police, added sources.
After a break from smuggling of gold for few days, now the recent incidents of smuggling of Red Sandalwood Powder has led for many doubts about more such smugglings.
Despite the fact so many preventive measures have been adopted by the RGIA officials, the International Airport of Hyderabad turned to be the gateway for such smugglings.
It is worth recollecting that a similar case of smuggling of Red Sandalwood powder of 20kg & 25kg occurred a few days back in two different incidents within a very short gap.
