Kidnapped Man in Herat Traced. Antonysamy (47) originally hailing from Dindigul in Tamil Nadu has been arrested by Afghanistan security forces for suspected involvement in the abduction of Father Alexis Prem Kumar.
Hyderabad: Antonysamy (47) originally hailing from Dindigul in Tamil Nadu has been arrested by Afghanistan security forces for suspected involvement in the abduction of Father Alexis Prem Kumar. According to the police, Father Kumar had been located in Gilan district of Herat, which has given great hope to his family in Tamil Nadu. The Indian government was in constant touch with the Kabul government and the local authorities, added Afghan sources.

Father Alexis, Afghan head of Jesuit Refugee Service, was abducted on Monday by anonymous armed men, believed to be linked to the Taliban, while he was visiting a JRS-supported school for Afghan refugee children from Iran and Pakistan. He was kidnapped from the school as he was about to return to Herat.
In the mean time, the US officials said that they have been in touch with both Indian and Afghan authorities on the kidnap of Father Alexis.
