Illegal LPG racket busted
Hyderabad: Illegal LPG Racket Busted, The North Zone police on Wednesday claimed to have busted an illegal LPG refilling racket and seized six LPG cylinders, 17 small gas cylinders and gas filling equipment.
Hyderabad: The North Zone police on Wednesday claimed to have busted an illegal LPG refilling racket and seized six LPG cylinders, 17 small gas cylinders and gas filling equipment. They also arrested one person who was operating the illegal LPG filling station at Addagutta here. The accused Md Ghouse, 32, a resident of Addagutta, indulged in illegal sale and refilling of the domestic LPG gas cylinders for commercial purposes. “He purchases domestic LPG cylinders belonging to various oil companies for Rs 600 and fills the gas into small cylinders (3- 5 kg) and sells them illegally for Rs 400 each.
He has been operating without a valid licence or taking any precautionary measures and thereby contravening the provision of LPG (R&S) Order 2000,” the police said. Acting on a tip-off, a team under the supervision of N Koti Reddy, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force apprehended the accused and handed him over to the Civil Supplies Authorities for necessary action.
