Husband severely beaten up for objecting to trees being uprooted
Pilibhit: A woman was allegedly stripped and forced to walk around naked while her husband was severely beaten up for opposing "local goons" in Andryan village of Jehanabad area here.
The couple was allegedly made to go through the ordeal by Shanti Swarup and his associates on June 24 after they objected to trees being uprooted from their fields and damaging of their hut by the accused, police said.
"The couple was subjected to severe beating and the woman was forced to move around in the village naked," police said.
An FIR was registered last night after Superintendent of Police Sonia Singh intervened into the matter. The couple along with some villagers had staged a protest yesterday outside the Jehanabad police station.
Efforts are on to arrest the accused, police said.
Couple's bodies found hanging
Bulandshahr: The bodies of a boy and a girl were found hanging from a mango tree in an orchard in Bulandshahr in western Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
The police suspect it to be a case of ‘honor’ killing as the girl, Preeti, was having an affair with Mukesh but her family was against the relationship.
According the complaint by the boy's family, Mukesh was summoned by Preeti's family. When he did not return, his family started to look for him and found his body and that of the girl's hanging from the tree.
Three-year-old raped
Lucknow: A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped and then killed in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, police said on Saturday. The incident took place in Ramgarh village in Amethi. The girl was sleeping in the courtyard of her house. Late in the night, family members found her missing. A hunt was launched to find her but to no avail.
Early Saturday, her body was found on the village outskirts, police said.
5 gang-rape woman
Meerut: A 26-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five youths, when she was out for walk with her younger sister, police said. The incident took place when the victim, a resident of Maliyana area of the district had gone out with her younger sister for a morning walk when five youths arrived and tried to misbehave with the girl, police said.
Seeing this the younger sister rushed towards home to call someone for help but when they arrived they found the girl in unconscious state in the near by fields.
A case has been registered against Yashpal, Rajpal, Rajendra and two others who are yet to be identified and efforts are on to nab the accused, they said.
