The police have been vigilant in Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa districts over increased number of red sanders smuggling. Early on Friday, the police have seized Red Sanders powder from 3 bags being carried in an RTC bus at Keshapur checkpost in Kadapa district
Hyderabad: The police have been vigilant in Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa districts over increased number of red sanders smuggling. Early on Friday, the police have seized Red Sanders powder from 3 bags being carried in an RTC bus at Keshapur checkpost in Kadapa district. The police carried out surprise check upon receiving authenticated information and seized the bags containing red sanders powder. More details are awaited.

It is evident that a lot of smuggling activities of Red Sandalwood have been taking place in Chittoor and Kadapa districts. These districts in Andhra Pradesh have turned the care of address for the sanders smuggling. Despite the fact the police and the forest department officials are vigilant, such untoward things have been happening over a period of time. So far, it has been limited to logs of red sanders. But, another way of smuggling in the form of powder is being adopted by the smugglers.
