Kidnapped boy found murdered, A 10-year-old boy, who was kidnapped on September 22, was found murdered on the outskirts of the city.
Hyderabad: A 10-year-old boy, who was kidnapped on September 22, was found murdered on the outskirts of the city.
The body of Y Karunakar, the fourth standard student, who was kidnapped by two unidentified persons on a bike near his school, Mother Mary High School in Chandrayangutta 12 days ago, was found in bushes between Meerpet and Pahadishareef area.
Karunakar’s father Prabhakar, an employee of a private firm, had lodged a complaint of kidnap with the Chandrayangutta police. A few hours later, his mother received an SMS on her mobile with the message “call me”. However, when she tried to call the number it was being rejected. A few minutes later, she received a call from an unknown number saying that the boy was with them.
The police later traced the number to a public booth. Police also tried to identify the kidnappers from the CCTV footage of the public booth. But they could not recognise anyone due to the video’s poor quality. The police tried in vain for the last 12 days to trace the boy. However, they were shocked to find the skeleton of the boy on Saturday morning. Police suspect that the stray dogs might have eaten away the body after it was thrown in bushes after the murder. According to Inspector Rama Rao, the police have formed special teams to crack the case.
