Ganja worth Rs.8 lakh seized

Rajahmundry: Rajahmundry Urban Police seized 160 kg ganja being transported, along with some plants, in a tempo from Kadiyam to Tuni on Friday.

According to Urban DSP KV Muralikrishna, V Peddi Raju and Venkata Ramana, natives of Ravulapalem, were involved in transporting ganja to Delhi and other places with the cooperation of two friends, K Siva and Srinu, after buying it from the Visakhapatnam agency.

On a tipoff, Prakasam Nagar and Bommuru Circle Inspectors, stopped the tempo, carrying 160 kg ganja, worth about Rs 8 lakh, and arrested Siva and Srinu.

They seized Rs 9,000 and three mobile phones. The culprits were transporting ganja from Kadiyam nurseries, along with a load of plants.
