Woman Gang-raped in Kukatpally; culprits on the run

A 30 year old woman in Kukatpally was gang-raped after three drunken men came to her house for a liquor party. The trio sexually assaulted the victim in an intoxicated condition and fled as the victim approached the police.

The woman gave three names to the police – Srinivas (Manager in a construction company), Ravi (Auto rickshaw driver) and Venkat (Driver with a private travel firm); all residents of Nizampet.

Police filed a case of rape against the three under Section 376 and search is on to arrest the offenders. Police informed that Srinivas from a year was having an extramarital affair with the victim. Inspector K. Purushotham said that the three men made the victim consume liquor after coming over for a liquor party at her house. Once she was drunk, they raped her and left the house.

Even though the woman was hesitant to lodge a complaint, she approached the police on Thursday and filed a complaint.
