The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials Friday red-handedly caught a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) in Nizamabad district while taking Rs 3,000 bribe from a farmer to include his name in the Pattadar Pass Book Online entry, the officials said.

Nizamabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials Friday red-handedly caught a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) in Nizamabad district while taking Rs 3,000 bribe from a farmer to include his name in the Pattadar Pass Book Online entry, the officials said.


ACB DSP Ravi Kumar said a farmer BetiYellaiaha at Ghanpoor village under Machareddy mandal had purchased the land and approached VRO for inclusion of his name in the Online Pattadar Passbook after deleting the name of the farmer who sold his land. But, the VRO demanded the Rs 3,000 bribe. Yellaiah, who was reluctant to give bribe to the VRO, approached the ACB officials. It led to the arrest of the VRO, the DSP said.
