One jailed for 15 days for drink driving
Sending a stern warning to persons getting behind the wheel in inebriated condition, a local court, here on Friday, awarded 15 days jail to a person caught in drunk driving. Another person was sentenced to seven days of imprisonment, six persons for five days, six more to three days, nine persons to two days, nine persons for a day, 18 persons to three days of imprisonment and 18 others till the rising of the court.

A total of 306 motorists were caught during a special drive and cases were booked against them. Police caught 239 two-wheelers, seven three wheelers, 59 four wheelers during their three-day enforcement drive on May 27, 28 and 30. City police booked 6,647 drink driving cases till June 11 and 909 motorists were awarded with imprisonment till date, a press release said.
