Hyderabad: Customs officials on Monday intercepted an air passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad and seized 1.98 kg gold from the passenger. During the routine checks, the customs officials checked the baggage of an air passenger from Punjab, who arrived at Shamshabad from Doha in a Qatar Airways flight (QR 500). The officials found about 125 gold coins concealed in unused socks that were present under the passenger’s clothes in the baggage. The air passenger from Punjab was later taken into custody for questioning, sources said.
