Two incidents of burglary were reported in the same locality during wee hours on Thursday. The burglars have sedated the pet dogs before fleeing with property worth over Rs 20 lakh, the police said.
Hyderabad: Two incidents of burglary were reported in the same locality during wee hours on Thursday. The burglars have sedated the pet dogs before fleeing with property worth over Rs 20 lakh, the police said.
According to the sources, the incidents of burglary were reported at Dew Drops colony situated in Alwal. At about 3.30 pm on Thursday, some unknown persons have sedated the pet dogs of Dr Dennis Joseph, entered his house while all the family members of the doctors were sleeping and fled with over 25 tola gold ornaments and some cash.
Following the incident, at around 4.30 am, the burglars gained entry into the house of an ex-serviceman Venkateshwara Rao and fled with some cash, gold ornaments and other valuables. Later, another attempt by the burglars in the same locality failed, as the locals observed them opening the door of a house using the flash light of mobile phone. The locals raised alarm, forcing the burglars to flee, the sources said.
It was reported that,coincidentally, a fire mishap took place in a hut located about 1 km away from the Dew Drops colony at around 3 am. As the police officers rushed to attend the emergency, the burglars took the chance and looted two houses, the sources said.
The Alwal police said that they have collected the available clues and booked separate cases in the incidents. Teams were formed to investigate the incidents of burglary and also to find out if the mishap was coincidental or intentional, the police added.
