Burglars broke open and ransacked three houses in Mukkal village of Balkonda mandal in the district on Wednesday. The residents of the houses went to participate in the Maha Siva Rathri celebrations at Vemulawada in Karimnagar district.

Balkonda (Nizamabad): Burglars broke open and ransacked three houses in Mukkal village of Balkonda mandal in the district on Wednesday. The residents of the houses went to participate in the Maha Siva Rathri celebrations at Vemulawada in Karimnagar district.

The burglars decamped with 20 tolas of silver in the house of a school headmaster Gandadhar, two tolas of gold in the house of one Narender and also ransacked the house of one Arjun. The victims lodged a complaint with the police.

The thieves also robbed four shops at the Ambedkar Circle in Bodhan town. They ransacked a photo studio, a saree’s centre, a men’s ware shop, and a hardware shop. Cash worth Rs 10,500 were stolen. The Bodhan and Balkonda police registered cases of thefts.
