Two girl students aged eight and 12 years, were crushed to death by a lorry when they were returning home from school in Keesara on Monday. The accident took place in Keesara police station limits when M Sneha (12) and M Harshitha (8), residents of Rampally village were returning from Vignan High School on a bike driven by their grandfather M Balaiah.

​Hyderabad: Two girl students aged eight and 12 years, were crushed to death by a lorry when they were returning home from school in Keesara on Monday. The accident took place in Keesara police station limits when M Sneha (12) and M Harshitha (8), residents of Rampally village were returning from Vignan High School on a bike driven by their grandfather M Balaiah.

On Monday afternoon, Balaiah picked up his granddaughters and as they reached Bharat petrol pump in Rampally village, a crane carrying a under-repair truck hit the bike from the rear. The trio fell on the road and the girls died instantly as they went under the truck. Keesara Inspector M Anantha Chary said as the crane hit the bike, Balaiah lost control and the trio fell on the road and the girls were run over by the rear tyres of the truck. Balaiah is undergoing treatment at a hospital. His condition is said to be critical.
