Hyderabad: A 51-year-old businessman from Hyderabad, who was allegedly cheated by his wife and two sons, had protested in front of their house demanding 50 per cent share in the property he had written in his wife’s name.

The businessman, Ramesh Chandra, who used to run a chit fund company was married to Vijaya Lakshmi in 1991 and the couple was blessed with two sons. The couple separated about two years ago and was living independently in Kukatpally.

On Tuesday, Ramesh staged a hunger strike in front of Saisadan apartments in Sangeeth Nagar in Kukatpally, where his wife was staying. He alleged that he had written all his property worth about Rs 7 crore on his wife’s name. After taking the property, his wife separated from him and has been enjoying the property along with his sons.

“About two years ago, I made a representation with the DGP office requesting him to deliver justice, but it was of no use. Lakshmi’s sister Supraja who is working as a senior assistant in DGP office is threatening me of dire consequences and a senior police officer is also supporting them,” Ramesh said. “Despite having huge property, I am now living with my septuagenarian mother in a rented house,” he said.

On receiving information that Ramesh was protesting in the residential area causing hindrance to the public, Kukatpally police asked him to settle the matter legally. A reluctant Ramesh was detained and shifted to the police station and later he was released.
