​Hyderabad: The Chaderghat police on Monday arrested a former MIM Corporator for attacking an Electricity Department Assistant Engineer (AE).
On Saturday, MIM ex-Corporator Khaja Bilal and some others went to the AE Venkatesh’s office and attacked him. A video showing Khaja Bilal slapping the AE and also abusing him was circulated on social media.
Following a complaint by the AE, the Chaderghat police booked a case against Khaja under Sections 290, 330, 332, 504 and 506 of the IPC.
After collecting the evidence, the police arrested Khaja Bilal from his house at around 4 pm on Monday. He was later produced in the court, which remanded him in Chanchalguda jail for 14 days.
