Woman burnt alive as car catches fire
A woman was burnt alive and five others suffered burn injuries when a car in which they were travelling caught fire in Yacharam town of Ranga Reddy district on Friday evening.
Hyderabad: A woman was burnt alive and five others suffered burn injuries when a car in which they were travelling caught fire in Yacharam town of Ranga Reddy district on Friday evening.
The deceased woman was identified as Chandrakala, 40, a resident of Kukatpally. The injured persons include her husband and other members of the family.
According to the police, the family was on its way to Takkallapalli via Yacharam when the tragedy occurred.
A high-tension power line snapped when a loaded lorry passed on the road and the power line wire fell on the car.
Five out of the six inmates could get out of the car with the help of passersby but the woman could not come out. Flames engulfed the car killing the woman.
The car was completely destroyed in the fire, police said. Yacharam police have registered a case and are investigating.
