Sri Vishnu Education Society is in the forefront of imparting quality education in different streams in both Telugu states. Can you give brief history and background?
Late Dr B V Raju, who rose to greater heights in his career wanted to do his bit for providing quality education to the next generation and thus Sri Vishnu Education Society came into being in 1990s- initially with campuses in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district and in Narsapur, Medak district in combined Andhra Pradesh state .
What is the USP of educational institutions run by SVES?
Our campuses in Bhimavaram and Narsapur are established in lush green environs with excellent and spacious infrastructure. We are committed to further develop these reputed and thriving institutions by upgrading infrastructure, amenities and other facilities time to time. Top priority is for construction of new blocks to provide for inclusion of newer disciplines as well hostels for meeting accommodation needs of students, introduction of e-class rooms, and procurement of new equipment etc. Also our institutions are designed to provide best instructional, practical and research facilities suited for needs of Corporate and Industry. Also, we have built a housing colony for staff in Narsapur where 72 flats (each of 1300 sq.feet) are ready for occupation.
Unlike other colleges, Sri Vishnu Education Society runs VEDIC (Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Centre), which is proving to be a big help to staff and students pursuing education different courses in our colleges. Can you elaborate more details?
Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Centre (VEDIC) was established in 2016 in Aziznagar on Hyderabad outskirts. In a residential-retreat style campus of VEDIC, faculty, students and leaders undergo holistic development programmes. The Mission of VEDIC is to facilitate and provide transformative experiences for the leadership, faculty, students and non-teaching staff of the Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) institutions that will enable them to adapt to the fast-pace of changes in the field of education. Apart from Hyderabad, we also opened another VEDIC centre in Bengaluru as well.
Also, the other specialty of SVES being heard in education circles is the special set-up to reach out to best of the companies across the country for placements and internships. Can you explain more about this?
Besides Training and Placements wing at each of the institutions, SVES has one-of-its-kind Industry Relations Cell in Hyderabad with Liaison Offices in Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Vadodara and New Delhi. In, 2017-18 almost 250 companies held job drives in our colleges and hence the placements were very high. Also, the IR cell facilitates internships for students in reputed companies every year.
BVRIT Narsapur that was established by Founder Chairman more than two decades ago stands apart from the rest of leading private engineering colleges in both Telugu states. Can you elaborate more?
BVRIT Narsapur boasts of a large campus established in 110 acres, which is a rarity for a private engineering college. The credit goes to our Founder Chairman Dr B V Raju, whose wish was to establish a premier institution in more than 100 acres of vast area. These were introduced as per needs of Pharma industry and understandably top companies like Dr Reddy's, Aurobindo and Hetero recruited almost all students. There are plenty of job opportunities for students pursuing engineering in such unique courses.
One thing that stands unique among the other leading institutions is free breakfast extended to around 5500 students at Narsapur campus on daily basis. Can you explain reasons for such a magnanimous move?
Narsapur campus is established in a sprawling 110 acres of land and it takes roughly 75 minutes of journey by bus from Hyderabad to reach the campus. It came to our notice some of the engineering students were feeling hungry in the morning session and were not able to listen to classes attentively every day.
While some others were found to avoid breakfast because of vomiting sensation in the body due to bus journey soon after eating. To overcome this problem, we decided to serve free breakfast within the college every day in the morning 8.45 am to 9.20 am. Menu comprises of Pongal, Pulihora, Tomato bath, Upma mostly. We also serve tea and milk. Engineering and management students studying in BVRIT (B V Raju Institute of Technology) and pharmacy students from VIPER (Vishnu Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research) located next to BVRIT as well as staff members avail the breakfast facility.
