Warns govt not to deprive students of benefit sanctioned by YSR Hyderabad: The YSR Congress party honorary president, YS Vijayamma on Thursday embarked on a two day hunger strike seeking the implementation of the fee reimbursement scheme in its letter and spirit as introduced during the regime of her husband Y S Rajasekhar Reddy benefiting the students from the poorer sections pursuing the professional courses. Thousands of students, party men and loyalists thronged the Indira Park venue re-endorsing their support to the cause. This is the third such protest organised by the YSRCP in support of the fee-reimbursement scheme ever since Kiran Kumar Reddy came into power. She threatened to intensify the stir if the government failed to implement the scheme without any conditions. She pointed out that the fee reimbursement for the students was varying from college to college. The fund-strapped government was planning to restrict the benefit of the scheme to the students who had secured below the rank of 10,000. The reimbursement should be extended without any strings attached to all the eligible students as it was the case during the tenure of Raja Sekhar Reddy. She exhorted the students not to give up the fight and forego the benefits extended to them by the same government before 2009. She made it clear that the party would stand for the cause of the students. It may be recalled that Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Kadapa MP staged a week long protest at the same venue in February 2011. Vijayamma herself went on a similar protest for two days in August last year. VIjayamma
