Mumbai: Kenya’s biggest culinary event, Nairobi Restaurant Week, is set to return to Kenya for the third time, taking place from January 28th – February 7th, 2016.

Showcasing over 60 of the best restaurants, including the likes of Dusit, Mediterraneo, Sankara, and Talisman, all participating eateries have designed a bespoke menu in preparation for the event.

The Ministry of Kenya’s new Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Najib Balala said, “Nairobi Restaurant Week 2016 offers the ultimate culinary experience by bringing Kenya’s vibrant dining scene to live in a diverse showcase of Nairobi’s best restaurants. With the flavours of Kenya all coming together in the country’s biggest annual celebration of food and dining, there has never been a better time to discover the tantalising sensations of eating and drinking in Kenya.”

This year, NRW2016 has teamed up with the South African winemaker, Nederburg and will feature three-course tasting menus priced at either $15 USD or $24 USDper person with special offers on a selection of Nederburg wines. Several restaurants will also offer a two-course lunch menu for either $10 USD or $18 USD per person.

Michelle Slater, the General Manager at EatOut Kenya highlights “Nairobi is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Africa and this is visible in our ever growing, diverse culinary scene. Nairobi Restaurant Week, therefore, aims to celebrate the very best of food and drink in our city. Following the success of the last two annual events, we have built this year’s Restaurant Week to be bigger and better than ever.”

In a bid to promote responsible drinking, NRW2016 and Nederburg have once again partnered with taxi-hailing app Uber to offer complimentary rides to new users for the duration of NRW2016. Other sponsors include Amarula, CFC Stanbic Bank, San Pellegrino, SHK Consulting, The Star, Moyo Holidays, UP, Wrigley & Yummy Magazine.
