Handlooms from the land of Tamils
TN Venkatesh, director of handlooms and textiles, Tamil Nadu inaugurated Tamil Nadu Handloom Exhibition-cum-sale 2015 at Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), West Marredpally, on Friday. Dr Preeti Meena, director of handlooms and textiles, Telangana State, was also present at the inauguration.
TN Venkatesh, director of handlooms and textiles, Tamil Nadu inaugurated Tamil Nadu Handloom Exhibition-cum-sale 2015 at Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), West Marredpally, on Friday. Dr Preeti Meena, director of handlooms and textiles, Telangana State, was also present at the inauguration.
The exhibition, being organised by the department of handlooms and textiles of Tamil Nadu will be on till May 10. Special discount from 10 per cent to 50 per cent will be given on select items in the expo, which includes silk sarees from Kancheepuram, Arani, Salem and Thirubuvanam, soft silk sarees from Coimbatore, designer cotton sarees from Tiruppur, Paramakudi, Dindigal. The expo will also include bed sheets, towels, blankets and home furnishings from Erode, Chennimalai and Bhavani.
