Overall winners of the 2nd JK Tyre-FMSCI Rotax National Karting Championship

Shahan Ali Mohsin from Agra, Akash Gowda from Bangalore and Chennai lad Vishnu Prasad emerged champions and lead in the Micro, Junior & Senior Max categories. The head start should hold them in good stead when they return to the newly-laid track for the July 25 and 26 second leg.

Almost akin to Saturday’s weather conditions, even the second day was a wet race because of the continuous downpour. The pre-finals race in the Micro Max category saw Shahan Ali Mohsin dominating from the word go. Finishing in second was Nikhil Bohra from Bangalore for Team Meco Racing while Bangalore boy Arjun Nair finished third.

The Junior Max pre-finals was pretty dramatic and Akrash Gowda holding off threats to eventually finish ahead of Mohammed Nallwala and Chennai lad Nirmal Umashanker, who took the next two spots. After an eventful outing in the 20-lap Senior Max category, Vishnu Prasad pipped Nayan Chatterjee and Dhruv Mohite to the second and third positions.
