“While a seat in a private medical college costs no less than Rs 30 lakh, the same course can be completed in Belarus spending about Rs 20 lakh,” says Rajaram, managing partner of Medico Abroad. In a programme organized in the city yesterday, Rajaram along with the Vice Dean of Gomel State Medical University Natallia Usava spoke to the potential students and their parents about the medical education under the graduate programme of 6 years in the university.

Speaking to the newsmen, Natallia Usava said, “Gomel University has produced more than 300 students of Indian origin as Doctor of Medicine (MD) which is equal to an MBBS in the country. The number of Indan students is increasing at the University which paves a practical and clinical base education structure that is European inspired.

The University hosts the best of faculty who count to more than 500 with 16 clinical departments, specialized work rooms and more. The fee per semester will cost around Rs 1.33 lakh and can be paid in two terms. The total fee of the 6 year programme at Gomel University is Rs 20 lakh towards the University and accommodation,” she said.
