A one-week metro technology training course capacity and skill building for young engineers began on Monday. Officers from different engineering disciplines in organisations like Nagpur Metro, AECOM, Parsons, L&T and HMR took part in the training programme.

This is a first-of-its-kind training programme launched by L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd. Speaking at the launch, NVS Reddy, MD of Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) said that precast segmental construction of Metro viaduct, adoption of Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) system, which is a first in the country, and the latest Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems were unique to the Hyderabad metro rail.

Reddy added that with the engineering talent of L&T and the with guidance of some highly respected Metro Rail experts of the country, the Hyderabad project is able to substantially reduce the role of foreign consultants and yet adopt for sophisticated Metro Rail technologies.

Head, Civil Systems, L&T Metro Rail Anil Saini, Ex-Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety Sudhir Kumar and Human Resources Head, L&T Metro Rail Sushanto Ganguly and others were present on the occasion.
