A game of two

Ailamna art gallery is celebrating the month of March for women, and will be launching a group show titled, ‘A Game of Two’, on 8 March 2016, 6 pm. 14 artists will be participating in the exhibition and they are, Anjum Ziaee, Archana Biswal, Aruna Kumar, Debbrata Biswal, Durgarao Padmasali, Farzona Pathan Khanoon, Goutham Pal, Koeli Mukherjee Ghosh, Parameshwar Raju, Piu Mahapatra, Savitha Laxmanan, Sravanthi Juluri, U Vijaya Kumar and Vasantha Mukthavaram.

The exhibition is a free direction for the images and thoughts to flow and to celebrate the equal participation of men and women in the most natural sense. The exhibition addresses the universal sense of being, rather than associating the skilled, unskilled, role or identity narratives.

Artist, curator Koeli Mukherjee Ghose, says “This year we dedicate the title to a game of arm wrestling or panja ladana. It has something about it wherein, there could be a winner, a looser or if none is found, then it is a draw. A game needs two people who are equal; two players, there is companionship, there is fun in winning or losing, yes strength and presence of mind are the two elements either player may have in possession."

The show will launch on March 8, at 6 pm, and will be on view till 31 from 12 pm to 8pm.
