The idea behind this work is to incorporate the love symbol (heart) into Devanagari script. Instead of the Latin script, the transliteration of love in Devaganari adds a multilingual, fun aspect which imbibes elements from our Hinglish speaking generation and popular culture
Speaking after the inauguration KTR said, “A beautification drive of Hyderabad was started on November 1. Local, national and international artists brought their creativity to change the facade of the city.
Here too like in Delhi and Mumbai, they sculpted a Typo sculpture, 'Love Hyderabad.' This typo will go well with the selfie culture and no tourist will go without taking a selfie here.”
“We want to make Tank Bund beautiful and a place for amusement and recreation for the people. HMDA and GHMC will work together to beautify the city and increase the tourist spots in Hyderabad,” he added.
Earlier Mayour Bonthu Rammohan visited locations at Necklace Road and viewed the paintings painted at Makta areas opposite to People’s Plaza.
“Hyderabad has a rich 400 year old history and culture. We are working to further increase the tourist interest in the city. Several artists joined together to give Hyderabad an international look and brought a newness to the city,” he said.
Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor also appreciated the artists for the month long street art festival and their involvement in making the city a beautiful tourist spot.
BV Papa Rao, Advisor to the Government, said that Krishna Keerthi Foundation, Street Art Foundation, Asian Paints and other organisations have coordinated with the GHMC in making this festival a grand success and this type of festival will be taken up in every year in November to beautify the city.
