Hanamkonda: The government was neglecting the social welfare hostels and students staying the hostels, alleged CPI state secretary Ch Venkat Reddy.He, along with the AISF district leaders G Rohith, N Ashok, Stalin, G Nararjuna and others, visited tribal welfare hostel at Balasamudram in Hanamkonda on Thursday and interacted with the inmates.

Speaking to press persons, he demanded the government to ensure proper medical care for the students as several inmates were suffering from ailments and yet were not provided treatment. It was sad that the TRS government, which came to power with the support of students was neglecting them, he added. Construct 2BHK houses on the lines of ErravelliLater on the day Venkat Reddy led a massive dharna at Ekasila Park in Hanamkonda demanding the government to construct double bedroom houses to the slum dwellers and poorer sections in Warangal city on the lines of the houses at Erravelli.

He wanted regularisation of lands occupied by the poor and construct independent houses instead of G+ houses by implementing the GOs 58 and 59 while saying that nearly 10,000 poor were living in the huts in Warangal city. Meanwhile, heated discussions ensued between the police and the CPI activists as the former prevented them from marching towards the district collectorate.
