With no supervision, the shelter has become a dumping yard, a haven for anti-social activities and a parking lot for pvt vehicles

While locals and passengers throw away waste on its premises, the drivers of autos and cars are using it as parking lot.
Even worse is, it has become a haven for anti-social activities during night and a shelter for pigs during day.
The bus shelter, from where at least 100 buses ply every day, occupies huge space in the town centre. Hundreds of passengers use the shelter every day.
Despite such a busy, the control room in the bus shelter is always seen locked with no police to control in a case of mayhem.
While ceiling appears weak, the electricity switch boards hang endangering the lives of passengers. Adding to all those, the shelter also lack drinking water.
In rainy season, it situation worsens with the stagnation of water all over. Passengers to put to hardships with no information about the buses they are to board.
Koduri Ramarao, a resident, alleged that private vehicle owners are hand in glove with RTC officials and use bus shelter for parking their vehicles.
Bala Koteswara Rao, another resident, complained of lack of fans and no proper sitting arrangements.
Shiva, a student, added that at least 200 students board buses from here and are unhappy with untidiness and lack of drinking water.
Passengers, locals and students allege that in spite of Rs 30 lakh of income generated through rents from shops in the bus shelter and shopping complexes outside, the bus shelter remains in a worst condition.
They appeal to leaders and government officials to take necessary steps immediately for the development of the bus shelter.
