​Vemulawada: On the occasion of Maha Sivaratri festival, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender on Friday presented silk vastrams to Lord Rajarajeswara Swamy in Vemulawada temple on behalf of the State government.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajender asserted that the government was determined to develop Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy temple on the lines of Yadadri temple, along with the temples in Dharmapuri, Kaleshwaram and Kondagattu by investing Rs 100 crore. ‘The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is keen on developing the temple in the next two years.’

The developmental works at a cost of Rs 100 crores were under progress in Vemulawada. The temple will be developed to get national level recognition, he added.

On the occasion of Maha Sivaratri, the Finance Minister prayed Lord Siva for the wellbeing of all the people in the State and also to give good name and fame to the Telangana State at national-level.

Earlier in the morning, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam JEO Srinivas offered silk clothes to Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy at Vemulawada.

He was accompanied by Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar, temple Chairman Dusa Rajeshwar, Telangana State Cultural Department Chairman Rasmai Balakishan, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, local MLA Ramesh Babu, Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, SP Vishwajeet and District Revenue Officer Shyam Lal Prasad and temple staff.
