Khammam: A delegation of CPM leaders, led by district general secretary Ponnam Venkateshwarlu, called on Collector D S Lokesh Kumar at the latter’s office on Wednesday and urged him to address the issues which had come to their notice during party’s Mahajana Padayatra. Ponnam said during Mahajana Padayatra, from February 3 to 22, the party had received nearly 3,000 applications from people seeking redressal of the issues.

Ponnam informed the Collector that despite being in separate state, majority of people were living miserable lives with no jobs and basic facilities like shelter and water. While several youth sought release of fee dues and scholarships, elderly requested for pensions, he said.

Responding to delegation’s request, the Collector assured that the applications would be sent to the officials concerned for the speedy redressal.

Nunna Nageshwar Rao, Yerra Srikanth, Macharal Bharathi, K Narasimha Rao, Mekal Nageshwar Rao and M Gopal were part of the delegation that called on Collector.
