Officials exhorted to ensure welfare schemes reach needy

11th Civil Services Day celebrated across all districts

Khammam: It is the responsibility of the government officials to successfully implement the welfare schemes and developmental activities introduced by the Central and State governments, said District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar.

Speaking in a meeting organised on the occasion of 11th Civil Services Day here at Technical Training and Development Centre (TTDC) in Khammam on Friday, the Collector said each and every government employee and official would become successful only when he faces all the problems and addresses them during his service efficiently.

“Getting a government job is a great thing, but it will be meaningful only when the officials are always available to common people and solve their problems,” said the Collector. “The Civil Service officials must play a key role in leading all sections of people in the path of development by utilising all the resources which are available apart from striving hard to uplift the weaker sections, suggested the Collector.

“Enormous changes are taking place in modern science and technological fields. By understanding and learning new modern technology, the Civil Service officials must improve their professional skills for successful implementation of various welfare schemes and developmental activities introduced by Central and State governments with the coordination of the officials of various departments following the rules and regulations, advised the Collector.

District Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, District Revenue Officer Shiva Srinivas, Rural Development Officer Purnachandra, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kondal Rao, Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Narendra Kumar Jain, BC Welfare Officer G Hrushikesh Reddy, Agriculture Officer Aruna Sri, Chief Planning Officer Z Ramdas, District Panchayat Raj Officer K Srinivas Reddy, District Employment Officer V Vijetha and District SC Development Officer K Achyutananda Gupta attended the meeting.

In Kothagudem, District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu directed the government servants to serve in a better way to make sure that all government schemes reach the doorstep of needy and poor. While addressing the felicitation programme organised at Collectorate Meeting Hall on the occasion of 11th Civil Services Day, he said that it was the government servants who play a crucial role in bringing welfare schemes to the people.

The Collector advised the government servants to work with coordination to resolve issues. He asked the officers to bring to his notice if there were any issues while performing duties. “Former Union Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel considered IAS officers as ‘Steel Frame of India’,” Hanumanthu reminded, urging the officials to work with dedication and perseverance to extend government schemes to people.

“All India Services is the best platform to serve poor,” the Collector noted. Later, district officials felicitated the Collector and District SP Amber Kishore Jha. RDO Kiran Kumar, Collectorate Administrative Officer Masthan Rao and other officers attended the meeting.
