Opposition stages protest at Armoor

Armoor: Opposition party leaders took out a rally and burnt the effigy of MLA Jeevan Reddy in front of the municipal office here on Tuesday demanding sanctioning of developmental funds to those wards only that were represented by TRS party councillors.

They boycotted the general body meeting held at the municipal office. Police arrested leaders of BJP, TDP and Congress. Later, the activists of these parties staged a sit-in dharna in front of the police station demanding release of their leaders.

Nizamabad DCC president Tehir Vunder, BJP state official spokesperson Srinivas, TDP state official spokesperson Raja Ram Yadav, former municipal chairman K Gangadhar and others were among those arrested.
