Nalgonda/Suryapet: Ganesh immersion went off peacefully in both Suryapet and Nalgonda districts, thanks to the respective district police. Immersion of Idols took place at selected ponds with religious fervor and slogans. All the idols were taken out in colorful procession to the immersion points, where the was completed in the early hours of Monday. Devotees took out impressive processions amid drum beats and dances before reaching the immersion points.

“It went peacefully” both Nalgonda, Suryapet SPs N Prakash Reddy and Parimala Nutan informed The Hans India. Constabulary did a fine job in coordinating with organisers of the pandals. The police ensured smooth passage of processions and immersions. Policemen were deployed at all sensitive places and mobile phones were extensively used as part of coordinated services.

In Suryapet, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy inaugurated the idols immersion procession at a pandal located at Potti Sriramulu Centre and the Minister drove the vehicle carrying Ganesh from pandal to immersion point at Saddula Cheruvu.

In Nalgonda, Collector Gaurav Uppal, SP N Prakash Reddy, TSFDC Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, MP Gutha Sukender Reddy, MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ganesh Utsav Committee president Badaru Prasad and leaders of ruling and opposition parties participated in the puja performed at Hanuman Nagar of Nalgonda old city. Nalgonda Joint Collector C Naryanareddy, RDO Venkatachary supervised the immersion of Nalgonda town idols at Dugunelly pond of Kattangur of Nakrekal constituency.
