Two employees of CMS Info Systems, a cash management company, along with three others were nabbed by the Jeedimetla Police on Friday for stealing Rs 55.86 lakh from different ATMs in the city. Two four-wheelers and Rs 10.68 lakh were recovered from their possession. The accused are Sathyanarayana Reddy, 27, Bharath Kumar, 25 of CMS. Their associates are Anjaneyulu, 50, Bobanna, 46, I Srinivas Reddy, 38. Raju of Khamamm and Rangaiah and Mandar of West Godavari are absconding and are yet to be captured.

Sathyanarayana Reddy and Bharath, route custodians of CMS maintain their own passwords. Bharath’s password came into the hands of Sathyanarayana thorugh illegal means and his neighbor, Srinivas Reddy conspired with Sathyanarayana to bring cash from the ATMs and thus exchange the original currency for twice the amount in fake.

A gang of con men, Anjaneyulu, Bobanna, Wyra Raju, Rangaiah and Madar, had a regular business of duping the innocent people by offering them twice the amount in fake currency in exchange for the original notes. Both Sathyanarayana and Srinivas admitted to stealing cash amounting to nearly Rs 55.86 lakh from 4 SBH ATMs located in Jagathgirigutta, Chandragirinagar and Shapurnagar since last April. Rs 49.50 lakh was paid to the gang of tricksters in exchange for double the amount in fake notes but the gang had been avoiding them, and had not handed over the money.
