For the Abu Dhabi based artist Ranga Lavanya, it has been a homecoming of sorts. The three day exhibition at Rainbow Art Gallery, the first solo exhibition is a collection of many paintings that have been inspired by nature, people and surroundings.
Born and brought up in Hyderabad the inspiration for art started way back in school. A self taught artist, she started with water colours but now dabbles with acrylic, oil and also used several tools apart from the brush such as knife to give the extra effect.
“I always loved painting but it is after marriage that I am giving more time to art,” says Lavanya. She takes inspiration from nature and is best reflected in some of her works. She seems to be at ease when she paints flowers. A few abstract paintings too are on display at the gallery.
