Haricharan Tadpatri (6) is a double amputee, who lost his right hand and left leg after an electric accident in August, 2012. After intensive surgery he recovered quickly and started heading back to school and all his cultural activities with great enthusiasm.

Despite having two of his limbs amputated, Haricharan Tadpatri has run marathons in Hyderabad and Mumbai and is overcoming obstacles like a champ. He doesn’t allow his disability to dampen his spirits

HaricharanHaricharan Tadpatri (6) is a double amputee, who lost his right hand and left leg after an electric accident in August, 2012. After intensive surgery he recovered quickly and started heading back to school and all his cultural activities with great enthusiasm.

Haricharan is an active participant in cultural activities and is associated with Ekalavya Dance Academy. He bagged the ‘Jr Title’ winner for Dance Hyderabad Dance Season 3, and was also a runner-up of ‘Footloose 3 – Jr’. This was only possible with great support from Bhanu Kiran, Tony and Ganesh.

Haricharan’s father Raghavendar Rao, a software engineer, said, “Beginning from Airtel Marathon - 2013, Haricharan has participated in various other marathons such as the Mumbai Marathon -2013, Airtel Marathon - 2014 and also in a duathlon (cycling and running for 2 kilometres) along with his sister. He received great support from Dakshin Rehabilitation Centre, an NGO at Panjagutta.”

Haricharan is presently studying in Class I in Little Genius Pre-School. He was right-handed prior to amputation and now he is accustomed to writing with his left hand.

Prasanna, his mother, said, “He doesn’t allow his disability to dampen his spirits. He is excelling in studies and other activities, on par with normal children.”
