Metro Rail to reduce barricades

The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) is planning to speed up its works and wants to handover more work to L&T and reduce barricades to reduce traffic congestion on the roads. The Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jitendar informed Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma that the L&T can be given more work provided engineering designs are ready.

The Metro Rail will acquire 204 properties (157 private and 47 GVM). Recently HMR made a breakthrough and got control of the open area in front of the Aladdin Building in Begumpet. The issue was pending for 30 years. Jabbar Building is now being demolished and it will be completed in a week, informed NVS Reddy in the weekly review meeting held on Tuesday.
