Serene revelations, a photo exhibition showcasing 20 works of HR Devupally, is being organised at Ailamma Art Gallery. The works, based on medium of oil on canvas and acrylic on canvas, in the genre of abstracts have experiences of being meditative. Speaking about his art Devulapally says, “Art for me is a process of unraveling ‘self’, an attempt at understanding life, it’s processes and its strengths, hence it is a form of meditation as well as worship.”

A graduate from the Osmania University, Devulapally started painting when he was 15 years old and has brought in a gradual evolution in subjects, mediums and treatments in his works. The artist is presently engrossed in painting, sculptures and communication designing from his studio.

The artist through his practice has evolved his own expression of excavating through the layers of his paintings, inscribing fine lines, hatching and cross hatching and creating an interplay of light and depth. The total impact is that of an ethereal floating in the space. The linear and solid network of motifs plays a role of creating a sense of mass in a floating space. The paintings appear to be emitting a subdued light due to a purposeful treatment of the medium. The exhibition will be on till April 24.
