A similar case was reported outside the Cantonment Park on the street number three of Jyothi Venkata Ramanaigh and Ayyappa Colony Residents Welfare Association, where office bearers had dug borewell on road and got it connected to their apartment. Locals are furious that the borewells are being up for personal benefits at the expense of other residents.

In this connection, president of the Jyothi Colony Residents Welfare Association has lodged a written complaint to the chief executive officer of SCB recently with details of the encroachment on the public road. The complaint urged the cantonment to initiate action against the violators of the provisions of the Cantonment Act, 2006. The SCB is yet to take action against the indiscriminate digging up of borewells on roads, streets and by lanes within the cantonment.
