Host Telangana State’s boys and girls beat their respective opponents on the first day of the 19th Sub-junior national sepak-takraw championship at Victory Play Ground in the city on Wednesday.

Host Telangana State’s boys and girls beat their respective opponents on the first day of the 19th Sub-junior national sepak-takraw championship at Victory Play Ground in the city on Wednesday.
Telangana boys beat Kerala 21-8, 21-6; 21-10, 21-11, 21-8, 21-8. The State girls won both their matches. They defeated Delhi 18-21, 15-21; 21-16, 18-21,21-10; 21-12,21-07 and later beat Goa 11-21, 14-21; 21-17, 21-13; 21-8, 21-10.
Earlier, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan inaugurated the championship. MLA T Raja Singh, corporator M Mamatha Gupta, Yogender Singh Dahiya, Secretary of Sepak Takraw Federation of India, Secretary of TSTA SR Premraj and other were present on the occasion.
