Director of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Dr S Chandrasekhar has been awarded the ‘Goyal Prize’ in Chemical Sciences instituted by Kurukshetra University.

Director of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Dr S Chandrasekhar has been awarded the ‘Goyal Prize’ in Chemical Sciences instituted by Kurukshetra University.

A statement released by the organisation on Wednesday said, “The award is given to him for his contributions in synthesis of complex marine natural products, use of PEG as a benign solvent and technologies developed for synthesising drugs using patent non-infringing routes.”

The award comes with a medal, citation and cash prize of rupees two lakh. Dr Chandrasekhar is also recipient of Rajib Goyal Prize of the same university in 2005, which is given to scientists below 45 years.
