Silver medallist at the 2016 Mr Universe Championship, city-based Esa Misri continues to bring laurels for his home town. The 45-year-old’s dedication to his craft is commendable.

The latest opportunity for Misri to showcase his talent will be in the United States of America at ‘Muscle Mani 2017’ as part of the ‘World Natural Body Building Championship’. What makes this one a unique chance is that he will be accompanied by his sons, Osman Misri (19) and Ahmed Misri (21), both of whom will also be competing at the event on June 22 and 23.

Speaking to CityTAB 45-year-old Misri said, “Body building is my passion and it’s been 30 years from when I started it. I learned posing and workout and continued for many years.” Misri took part in ‘Mr. Andhra Pradesh’ nine times, ‘Mr. Telangana’ eight times, five times for ‘Mr. Twin cities’ and one time for ‘Champion Of Champion of Hyderabad’.

“I have won many medals and been a bronze medallist at Mr. India in 2009. In 2014 I took part in Mr Universe and stood fourth. In 2016 I won a silver medal in Mr Universe,” he shared Elaborating on his category at the upcoming event in USA, Misri said, “I will be participating in Muscle Mania universe in high weight category of 85 kg -100 Kg, I am also training my two sons so that they can win gold medal for India.”

His youngest son, Osman commented, “Body building is my passion and I am inspired by my father. During Muscle Mania India, I was suffering with dengue and I was hospitalized. I went against my doctors’ suggestion to participate in the event; I won third place.”

“The president of Muscle Mania Zuvik was inspired by my work and invited me to USA Muscle Mania Universal Competition. My focus is to bring a gold medal for India in the Teenage category and I am working very hard to win and to do my best,” he added. Misri’s oldest son Ahmed shared, “From Telangana we are going to participate in this championship and looking forward to win gold medal.”
