The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) hosted India’s first workshop on Speech and Swallowing functions of a human body. This is the first time ever that India is hosting an international workshop to deal with specialised functions like speaking, understanding, chewing and swallowing.

Hyderabad: The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) hosted India’s first workshop on Speech and Swallowing functions of a human body. This is the first time ever that India is hosting an international workshop to deal with specialised functions like speaking, understanding, chewing and swallowing.

The theme of the three-day workshop held from March 10-12 was “Posture and Movement: Critical Components for Feeding and Speech Function (Neuro-Developmental Treatment Approach)”; and 30 Speech-Language Pathologists from various parts of the country participated.

Therese McDermott-Winter, internationally-renowned Speech Language Pathologist from the United States of America, and with over 30 years of experience trained the participants at this course at the KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad. This program was organised by S Phaneedhar Reddy,
