Ramachandrapuram: Laxmipuram Plots Owners Welfare Association members who purchased plots under Kollur Gram Panchayat in Ramachandrapuram mandal recently staged a protest in front of Ramachandrapuram Tahsildar office demanding justice for being cheated by the General Power of Attorneys (GPA) Holders and the land owners before submitting a petition to the revenue officials about the same.

The plots owners association Prasad said that nearly thousand employees of HCL, HAL, BSNL and BHEL companies purchased 1500 Laxmpuram open plots through the GPA agents of the land such as Sadanad Goud, Madhusudhan Reddy, Raghunandan Rao, Jitendar Reddy and Srinivas in 150 acres of land owned by the farmers with survey numbers from 174 to 190 under Kollur Gram Panchayat in the year 1984.

After some years, the heirs of the land owners resold the land of our plots to some other companies with help of some realtors illegally by destroying our plotting layout and the revenue officials also issued the patta pass books to the buyers. When we confronted the revenue official regarding the issuance of passbooks to the new buyers, the officials replied that it took place by mistake and they will be rectified soon but it was put in the cold storage. Then we moved to the Sangareddy district Court where we got the verdict in our favour in 2012, he said.

However, we tried to occupy our plots, the GPA agents and realtors are attacking us by deploying armed rowdies hurling stones at us. Recently, the MRO of the mandal issued passbooks for 40 acre land from our plots to some Nadendla Estates company. Feared of attacks, we decided to fight in a peaceful manner and submitted our petition at concerned Tahsildar office.

We, most of the members are retirees, have been fighting for more than 5 years and we demand the government and KCR and TRS leader Harish Rao, whom we met at the time of Telangana movement who assured us of doing justice for us, to save the actual owners of the Laxmipuram plots by handing over our plots and do justice to us within 15 days otherwise we will continue our fight in a big way, said the president of the owners association.
