After the results of UPSC 2017, the Lions Club of Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad has felicitated Jameel Fathima Zeba who has cracked UPSC 2017 and stood 5th among top ten and first female candidate from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Malkajgiri: After the results of UPSC 2017, the Lions Club of Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad has felicitated Jameel Fathima Zeba who has cracked UPSC 2017 and stood 5th among top ten and first female candidate from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

However, she has secured 62nd rank in All India level. The club members felt proud to felicitate Zeba at Helen Keller's Institute, Jubilee Hall and she was asked to give motivational speech to the undergraduates and post graduates students of the institute. H.K Institute chairman was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In her motivation speech Zeba explained her three years of journey in achieving IAS position. She said that it was only hard work and consistent perusal of current affairs, consulting different websites like www.vision IAS etc, and referring so many books related to the subject that is being chosen by her.

Replying to the questions of the students, she said that being a management student she opted sociology as her optional subject. She suggested that the Audiology, Speech & Language Pathology graduate and Post graduate students can take an attempt like other graduates as graduation is eligible to write the UPSC exams and also advised them to choose the subject which is comfortable to them. Answering to the other questions Zeba said that there is no bar for language in UPSC exams. The candidate is free to give the exam in Hindi, Telugu, Kanada, Malyalam, Tamil, English, etc.

The students were also given the idea of interview that was conducted by UPSC members and shared her own experience. She also emphasized that there is a transparency in the conduct of the UPSC Exams in the country. She said that she hardly spent a little amount in purchasing books and attending 8 months coaching during preliminary in 2015 but most of her teaming was browsing internet and social media watching TV, reading regular newspaper etc. She also said it does not require rigorous study without taking proper sleep because she use to go to sleep for 8 to 10 hours in a day.

Finally, she said that her father Dr P Habibulla Khan has motivated her always to taste success. She has also added Smitha Agarwal IAS, who has been is her inspirit, Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, Commissionor of Police greater Hyderabad is her mentor and others guided and boosted her for three long years. " I wouldn't have achieved my goal without their support," she shared. Lion P Ummar Khan, Lion Dr. Anirban Dasgupta, Lion P Ummar Khan, Lion Srividya, Principal Lion D Arumugam, HOD Anjaiah and institute Teaching and non-teaching staff also participated in the occasion.
