Basheerbagh: The Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) on Tuesday called for making its ‘Garjana Sabha’, to press several demands, in RTC Kalyana Mandapam on May 28 a grand success. Adviser to the union K Srinivas released the garjana sabha poster and pamphlet at Press Club here.

Speaking to press persons, he criticised the TRS government for failing to honour its promises given in the manifesto, like houses, house-sites, health facilities and accreditation cards.

Secretary-general of IJU Devulapalli Amar pointed that the government’s failure to honour its promises was ‘intolerable’. He hit out at the administration for dilly-dallying on taking up welfare measure for journalists for four years. Amar said the Garjana Sabha was intended to exert pressure on the government to take action.

General Secretary of the union K Virahath Ali said the sabha was to be a warning to the government. Among those present were IJU secretary Y Narender Reddy, executive member Kalluri Satyanarayana, TUWJ treasurer K Mahipal Reddy, HUJ secretary Siga Shankar Goud, presidents of Ranga Reddy and Medchal district units Srikanth Reddy, Venkat Reddy.
