Kodangal: A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death by his younger brother at Tekulkod village of the mandal following a property dispute, according to delayed reports reaching here on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Narender Reddy (30). He is survived by wife Lakshmi, whom he had married only last year. Narender Reddy used to live in the village practicing agriculture. Narender Reddy’s younger brother Rajeshwar Reddy, who is a cab driver in Hyderabad, allegedly hatched a plot to eliminate his elder brother along with his mother Padmamma and friend Uppari Lakshman of the village.

Accordingly, Rajeshwar Reddy asked Lakshman to bring his elder brother to railway gate in the village to discuss property matter. Lakshman did accordingly. There ensued a wordy duel between the brothers, leading to the younger brother stabbing to death Narender Reddy.

Rajeshwar Reddy along with Lakshman took the body to Borabanda of bordering Karnataka and set it on fire after dousing it with petrol. Later, the torched remains of the body were given a burial. On Sunday, Uppari Lakshman surrendered to the police. On a complaint lodged by the deceased’s wife, the police took up investigation into the case. The accused in the case is absconding.

Rajeshwar Reddy bore ill-will against his elder brother, who was accused of severely thrashing mother Padmamma last week following an altercation. Ever since, Padmamma left the home and understood to have informed about it to Rajeshwar Reddy, who hatched a plan to eliminate his brother.
