Secunderabad: The All India cantonments Citizens Welfare Association (ACCIWA) which comprises members of all 62 cantonments in the country would be meeting on Sunday in the city to draw a plan for future course of action.

This comes at a time when the Local Military Authority is still not reopening several roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment. Speaking to The Hans India, Jitender Surana of Open Secunderabad Cantonment All Roads (OSCAR) said that the meeting would delve on a host of issues pertaining to cantonments, but the road closure issue would be prominent.

Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) have been complaining and knocking on both doors; the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) and Local Military Authority (LMA) soon after the letter from Ministry of Defence orders to reopen the roads, but the LMA has still not reopened several roads. S Chandrashekar of OSCAR said, “Among all the cantonments, it is in Secunderabad Cantonment that maximum roads are still out of bounds.”
